3 Weight Loss Diet Tips

Sometimes losing weight can be really difficult.  The food can be tough to eat, you wonder if it's okay to cheat a little, and what it's okay to cheat with, etc.  Here are 3 quick diet tips to help you stick with your diet.

I hate weight loss diets. I really hate the word "diet" in general because it conjures up all these bad thoughts about restricting your favorite foods and starvation when life shouldn’t be that way.

Your life shouldn’t have to revolve around some whacked out weight loss diet telling you that you can’t enjoy your favorite foods, or that you have to limit yourself to some insane number of calories for a month because you need to "reset" your body.

But you still want to lose weight, so how do you stick to a reasonable weight loss diet and not feel deprived?

I’ve come up with a quick list of 3 easy to follow weight loss diet tips that will help ease your mind.

1. Don’t let yourself get to the point where you feel as though you’re starving.

All weight loss diets revolve around restricting the amount of calories you take in. They all differ in other ways, but restricting calories is the same focal point in every one of them.

But if you let yourself get to the point where you feel like your stomach is going to jump out of your throat and grab some food itself, then you’re probably on the wrong weight loss diet.

Letting yourself get to that point is a form of self-sabotage. It will do some things to you metabolically, which I’m not going to get into, but it will also affect how you eat the next time you do eat.

Whenever you allow yourself to get to that point where you feel like you’re starving, your only thought is "food".

It doesn’t matter what food it is, or where it comes from, you just want some food.

Unfortunatley, you usually not thinking clearly at this point in time so you grab whatever sounds the tastiest to eat. Cookies, bagels, 100 calorie snack packs, candy, chips, fast food.

Or, you might have a sensible meal sitting in front of you but you eat it so fast that you didn’t realize you ate twice the amount you normally would have which will stall your weight loss diet.

2. The way to stick to #1 is to make sure you always have some fat burning snacks with you that will keep you on your weight loss plan.

When I leave my house for the day, I always make sure I grab some pieces of fruit and a bag of almonds to keep in the car with me for times when I know I’ll be hungry.

Or if I know I’m going to be at my office the whole day, I make sure to keep a big bowl of raw nuts and raisins along with a couple pieces of fruit.

If you want to succeed with your weight loss diet, you must be prepared with your fat burning foods.

You need to plan ahead and know yourself well enough to know where your weak points are and when you might stumble.

If you plan those things out in your weight loss diet, you will succeed.

3. Have a support system.

You don’t need to have a big cheerleading section or a "yes man" to succeed with your weight loss diet, but you need someone who will help keep you honest and sticking with your goals.

The best person is someone who is trying to accomplish the same goals you are. That way you can share ideas and lean on each other when one of you is not feeling like sticking to your weight loss diet.

That could be a friend, co-worker, spouse, or family member. It really doesn’t matter, as long as you can communicate with this person on a regular basis and get support from them and help each other stick to your weight loss diet.

Those 3 weight loss diet tips, if you stick to them, will help you succeed with your fat loss goals.
